I stopped eating meat for health reasons, and initially did not see it as a permanent change. However, I have since become aware, alarmingly so, of the ethical arguments for vegetarianism. I can honestly say that I know I will never eat meat again, and can say so which so certainty because I feel so strongly and so passionately about it.
I know how livestock are kept, transported and slaughtered, and not from watching online peta propaganda videos, but from seeing it first hand; a great deal of my family work in the meat industry and been inside an abbatoir and watched animals being slaughtered. Also, I have kept pigs, cattle, sheep and chickens as pets and so to kill them for meat, to me, is as unthinkable as killing a dog or a cat for the same purpose.
